.jpg) This year the 9th “Euro-Mediterranean” Film Festival, which is held every couple of years in one of the EU countries, starts in Brussels on the 23rd of November till 2nd of December.
‘The Yacoubian Building’, starring a group of superstars such as Adel Imam, Nour El-Sherif and Yousra, was chosen by the festival jury to be the opening film. ‘Agent Matrimonial’, an Italian film was chosen for the closing ceremony.
Halim, starring the late superstar ‘Ahmad Zaki, which presents the life of the legendary singer ‘Abdel Halim Hafiz’, is participating in the musical films category, as well as ‘Bosta’, the Lebanese film and ‘Calintino’ a Spanish film.
Over 40 films from Euro-Mediterranean Countries Such as Egypt, Morocco, Palestine, Lebanon, Italy, Spain, Israel and turkey will participate in the festival.
The festival’s awards are categorized for The Grand award, The jury award and Audience award. And expected to go for one of 11 films competing on the three awards. The festival board panel chose some Arabic figuresto be members of the jury, such as the Moroccan actress ‘Thuraya Al-Alawy’, The Algerian ‘Jean Ben Jojo’. Also the board panel invited few artists from Morocco like ‘Hamido Ben Masoud’,Tunisia, Algeria and Turkey among other countries.
