It’s a no brainer… two weeks into its release Morgan Ahmed Morgan has landed over one million admissions at the Box Office, topping all films currently released in cinema theatres across Egypt.

Other films such as Mohamed Saad’s “Kar Kar”, released at the same date as Morgan, has managed to win around 400 000 admissions while Heneidy’s latest comedy “Andaleeb al Dokki – Dokki’s Nightingale” only landed a meager 13 000 admissions in the first week.
Earlier releases such as Ahmed Al Sakka’s “Taymour We Shafika – Taymour & Shafika” has scored over 900 000 admissions after a month’s release.

While summer (from June until September) is one of three high seasons for Arabic films, and Arabic comedies in specific, some distributors have decided to release their dramas & suspense flicks in the busy season. Films, such as Al Shabah (The Ghost) & Haitham Ahmed Zaki’s Al Belyatsho (The Clown) will be released by the end of July.
Wiser distributors see it best to postpone their release until Al Eid, lesser barium, to avoid losing money.
Compared to The Yacoubian Building’s 800 000 admissions last year, Adel Imam is sure to capture a wide range of fans in any film he acts in, yet he made sure that this time he shifts some of the spotlight on new young and fresh faces to capture the young generation of fans.
